Tina joined Karyopharm in April 2019 and is responsible for leading the organization’s compliance function. Under her leadership, Karyopharm will develop and maintain a robust compliance program that will support key business objectives in line with industry best practices.
Tina is an accomplished attorney and compliance professional with over twenty years of experience advising clients in the healthcare industry. Tina started her career as a Health Care Associate with Wiggin & Dana, LLP, and a Health Care Litigation Associate at Neubert, Pepe and Monteith, PC. Her significant in-house experience includes nine years at Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, where she was the lead attorney for the Oncology Division and Consumer Health Care Division in the US. Tina was a critical legal advisor to the development and commercialization of Gilotrif® (afatinib) tablets, Boehringer Ingelheim’s first approved oncology product. She was also Counsel and Secretary for the Boehringer Ingelheim Cares Foundation, the separate legal entity responsible for the Patient Support Program, Product Donation Program and other charitable giving. Tina also served as part of the PhRMA work group chartered create the industry response to the Physician Open Payments Act (“Sunshine Act”) and implementing regulations.
Prior to joining Karyopharm, Tina was the Executive Director of Compliance, at Alexion Pharmaceuticals, serving as the global compliance lead for Research and Development, Global Medical Affairs, Operations and Business Development. Tina founded and co-chaired the R&D Compliance Committee at Alexion and served on the Corporate Social Responsibility Steering Committee and the New Haven Site Leadership Team.
Tina earned her Juris Doctorate degree from Washington and Lee University School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of Connecticut, (magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa).
