Michael Kauffman, M.D., Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Kauffman was a cofounder of Karyopharm since the inception of the Company. Prior to joining Karyopharm, he was the chief medical officer of Onyx Pharmaceuticals Inc., which acquired Proteolix Inc., where he lead the development of carfilzomib, a novel proteasome inhibitor expected to be submitted for accelerated approval in refractory myeloma by Onyx as early as mid-2011. Dr. Kauffman was President and Chief Executive Officer of EPIX Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (previously Predix Pharmaceuticals, Inc.) from 2002 to 2008. He was the leader of the VelcadeĀ® Development Program at Millennium Pharmaceuticals, and held a number of senior positions at Millennium Predictive Medicine and Biogen. Dr. Kauffman received his MD and Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins Medical School and is board certified in internal medicine.

Ronald DePinho, M.D., Board Member and Oncology Advisor
Dr. DePinho is currently President of MD Anderson Cancer Center. He was
previously Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and the
founding Director of the Belfer Institute for Applied Cancer Science at
the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. His work on fundamental mechanisms of
cancer and aging has been recognized by numerous awards and honors
including election to the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of
Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, as well as an
American Cancer Society Research Professorship, the AACR Clowes Award,
ASCI Korsmeyer Award, Helsinki Medal, Harvey Lecture, Albert Szent-Gyorgyi
Prize, among others. He served as Co-Chair of the Advisory Broad of the
NIH Human Cancer Genome Project, Director of the AACR BOD and Advisor for
numerous foundations, biotechnology start-ups and biopharma. In the
private sector, Dr. DePinho is a Founder of AVEO (Nasdaq), Metamark
Genetics, and Karyopharm where he serves as Director and Advisor.

Mansoor Raza Mirza, M.D., Board Member and Clinical Advisor
Dr. Mirza is Chief Oncologist at the Department of Oncology, Rigshospitalet - the Copenhagen University Hospital, Denmark. Being both medical and radiation oncologist, and having main interest in gynecologic oncology, Dr. Mirza is involved in non-surgical treatment of gynecologic cancers. He chairs the Health Ministry's obligatory teaching course on non-surgical treatment of cancer for Danish doctors specializing in Clinical Oncology. He is vice-president of the Danish Gynecologic Cancer Group (DGCG) and executive board member of Nordic Society of Gynecologic Oncology (NSGO). He has been national coordinator and principal investigator of almost all phase 3 clinical trials in gynecologic cancer for more than a decade and is the national representative in the European Network of Gynecologic Oncology Trials (ENGOT) and in the Gynecologic Cancer Inter-Group (GCIG). He is active member of ESGO, IGCS, ESTRO, GOG and ASCO.
